Hello Strings Parents!
Lessons are well underway and the students are doing wonderfully. Beginning students have been working on their posture with rest and playing position and learning the names of open strings and first finger notes. Have your child teach you! Advanced Students are refreshing their reading skills with scales and new pieces using G and E string notes!
As a reminder: please make sure you have carved out at least 3-4 days a week of uninterrupted practice time for your child at home. Practice spaces should be quiet and have a music stand and a hard chair. Your child should set a goal for each practice session. Once they've achieved their goal, they're finished! That goal may take only 5 minutes or 30 minutes! Ex: today I will learn the first four measures of Fandango and be able to play them without pausing and making only one-two note mistakes.
Happy Practicing!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Stanek
